Eye Of The Tiger - Elm Beauty

28th Jan 2017

Unlock the eye of a tiger this winter season and add a little shine with the red eye trend sweeping the nation. The beautiful thing about this trend is that it can be as dramatic as you want!  But also can be feminine and creative it’s all a matter of taste. This trend is going to give you the WOW factor and then some!  Recreating this look is super easy and fun but first the dos and don’ts…….

Do pick the right red for you, picking a color because its trending is fine but there are lots of shades for each color, get the one that complements you the best, it needs to fit your style and also your skin tone.

Do an eye & lip focus together! Pick one or the other… a strong lip means you will need to tone down the eyes and a strong red eye look will mean you need to neutralize the lips with something more modest unless you’re a high fashion catwalk model it wont work!

Basically all trends start on the catwalk and then are paired back for us everyday beauties.

So how can you get the look?

  • Base – Using a cream matt base eye shadow apply under brow down the lid (number 1 from diagram below) also great for the inner eye area to open and brighten (number 2 from diagram)
  • Frame- Using the most vibrant color work up to the brow bone from the lash line (number 3 from diagram below)
  • Triangle Corners –Using the darkest shade in your pallet form triangles on the corers of the eye as in diagram below (number 5 from diagram)
  • Lid cover- Using the mid shade cover the lid focusing above the lash line (number 4 from diagram)

Get The Look!

Inglot, number 450 is a beautiful dark red with pearl finish and 607 a copper toned red  is amazing! Sleek (i good girl palette as seen below available at Morrissey’s Pharmacy) & Mac cosmetics all have a fantastic range of red shades – see below.
